ARNIC embarks on a new year!

In September the ESU welcomed new and returning members of the Andrew Romay New Immigrant Center (ARNIC) for the start of new academic year. Despite the challenges presented by the global health pandemic, we have been able to successfully move all of the ARNIC activties to remote platforms. The resilience, enthusiasm and engagement of the ARNIC community has inspired all of us. Now in its eighth year, ARNIC has helped more than 2,000 immigrants to acquire the skills, knowledge and resources to build successful lives in the U.S.
This year over 130 ARNIC members are participating in ten-week, online English classes on a range of topics from grammar to pronunciation. One hundred and twenty-five members have joined our weekly conversations practice sessions.
During the fall, we will be offering skill-building workshops and town hall meetings on topics ranging from financial literacy to job search strategies

The Andrew Romay New Immigrant Center (ARNIC) is a free program that empowers recently arrived immigrants with the skills, knowledge and resources to build successful lives in the U.S. ARNIC offers English language classes, weekly conversation practice with native speakers and opportunities for professional development and community integration.
