The English-Speaking Union, Kansas City Branch, Celebrates King Charles' Coronation

All ESU Members and Friends of ESU are cordially invited to attend a special English Afternoon Tea celebrating King Charles' Coronation. The celebration will be held on May 6, 2023—the same day as the King's official Coronation at London's Westminster Abbey, a place that has been the location of coronations for the past 900 years. 

The Royal Family announced, "The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside Camilla, The Queen Consort." The last British Coronation occurred 70 years ago when King Charles' mother, Queen Elizabeth II, was crowned in 1953.

Our Afternoon Tea celebrating King Charles' Coronation will be held at Anna Marie's Teas in Liberty, MO., in a stately 3-story, 5,000 square foot home built in 1913. 

The tea will include a variety of tea sandwiches, sweets, Brenda's signature scones, mock Devonshire cream, fine fruit butter or fruit jams and premium tea.  Our tea will include a special champagne toast to HRH King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort. We will again have our popular Trivia Quiz as well as some special door prizes. 

Brenda Hedrick, the owner and proprietress of Anna Marie's Teas, proudly proclaims, "This is not just any tea party--our tea experiences are delightfully extravagant!"

Tickets: $33 per person. This price is all-inclusive, including taxes and gratuities.

Friends and Guests:  We welcome friends and guests so please bring your friends. Our ESU Teas have sold out in the past and we encourage you to purchase your tickets as soon as possible so you won't be disappointed. 

Parking:  Parking is limited. Please carpool where possible. If anyone wants to use their car to carpool to reduce the number of cars, let us know and we'll pass along information so members can contact the carpool drivers to make pick up arrangements.
