MaKenna Lockhart, KC First Place Winner in 2014 Shakespeare Competition traveled to New York City to compete in the National Shakespeare Competition Semi-Finals and finals.  MaKenna's family joined her in NYC to watch her performance at Lincoln Center.

Taking Tea with Shakespeare

Members and guests of the ESU Kansas City Branch attended a Sunday afternoon fundraiser "Taking Tea with Shakespeare".  This was the 8th Annual fundraiser for two chapters of the Daughters of the British Empire—The Magna Carta Chapter and the Royal Arms Chapter.

ESU Group Evening Concert

Two theatrical and musical giants in Kansas City presented a remarkable and unique concert—free to the public on Saturday, November 23, 2013. The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival and The Bach Aria Soloists combined the evocative music of the great classic composers Bach, Vivaldi, Dowland and Handel with the poetry of the greatest playwright William Shakespeare.

The Kansas City Branch participated in the 28th Annual British Faire held in Lenexa, Kansas, on Saturday, November 16, 2013.  It was again sponsored by the Daughters of the British Empire in Kansas.  This annual fundraising event benefits retirement communities and local charities.
