Lownie, arriving in Kansas City direct from London, presented his lecture program on Friday, September 15, 2023. This special lecture program is part of ESU's Evelyn Wrench Lecture Series. Members and guests from ESU and IRC thoroughly enjoyed the program which was also livestreamed in the auditorium of the National World War I Museum. While in Kansas City for his brief lecture tour, Jeff Schnabel, Programming Chair of the ESU, showed Andrew some of Kansas City's finest museums: The National World War I Museum and Memorial, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, and the Steamboat Arabia Museum. Andrew also enjoyed some of Kansas City's famous barbeque at Jack Stack BBQ in the Freight House District. After the lecture on Friday evening, the ESU and IRC hosted a private dinner party for Andrew at Pierpont's Restaurant in Union Station.
