ESU Cordially Invites You to an Exclusive Private Screening of
Downton Abbey: The Movie and a
Downton English Tea Party

 The excitement is building for the movie version of Downton Abbey. Now you can watch the movie version of the beloved Downton Abbey at an ESU exclusive private screening on Saturday, October 5, 2019. The movie will be preceded by an elegant, Downton English Tea Party. What could be more British than that?

The movie centers around a royal visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Downton in 1927, a storyline inspired by a trip they really took to Wentworth Woodhouse in Yorkshire in 1912.

You'll not only see the return of all the main cast from the final television series, but the film also introduces some great British actors to the world of Downton, as we meet the royal family and their retinue.

The Downton English Tea Party will be at Anna Marie's Teas in Liberty, Mo. in a stately 3-story home built in 1913. Its large wraparound porch and period American, French and English antique furnishings create the perfect setting for a Downton English Tea Party—served on a special collection of china and silver.

The Tea will include a variety of tea sandwiches, sweets, Brenda's signature scones, Mock Devonshire cream, fine fruit butter or fruit jams and premium tea.  The Tea Party will also include a trivia quiz with prizes. Be prepared for some fun Downton Abbey trivia questions! We will conclude the Downton Tea with drawings for some wonderful door prizes.

Following the Tea will be the exclusive private screening of Downton Abbey, the movie at B&B Theatres in Liberty, Mo. After the movie we will have more drawings for door prizes.

What should I wear? You may wear whatever suits you. The movie takes place in 1927. Any period dress is welcome but not required. We think Violet might answer this way: "We would expect you to dress appropriately but don't go overboard." Enough said.

Parking:  Parking is limited. Please carpool where possible. If anyone wants to use their car to carpool to reduce the number of cars, let us know and we'll pass along information so members can contact the carpool drivers to make pick up arrangements.
