Let’s Get Trivial

News

ESU members and Friends of ESU are invited to our first annual FUNdraiser, Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:30 pm. 100% of net proceeds from this event support our ESU Kansas City Branch's educational programs, events, and operations.

Where: Piropos Restaurant in Briarcliff, Buenos Aires Room, 4141 N. Mulberry Dr. Kansas City, Missouri

When: Saturday, September 30, 2023.
6:00 pm—Drinks, social, networking
6:45 pm—Buffet Dinner served
6:00-7:30 pm—Live jazz musicians entertain
7:30 pm—Let's Get Trivial Contest begins

Trivia: Six Rounds of trivia categories:

  • Kansas City History—What do you know about your hometown?
  • The English Language—Divided by a common tongue
  • American Theatre—Life on the wicked stage
  • The Royals—Royal bloodlines and baselines
  • Books You Should have Read by Now
  • World of Warcraft—not the computer game, but famous conflicts throughout the ages

Dinner: Buffet-style featuring:

  • Garden salad: dressing: ranch or red wine vinaigrette
  • Entrée: Chicken Oregano with lemon butter sauce
  • Pasta: Penne Pasta in a roasted red tomato sauce
  • Sides: Roasted garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli with lemon butter
  • Dessert: Brownies with Dark Chocolate Swirls 
  • Beverages: iced tea

One drink ticket included. Additional drinks can be purchased at the cash bar

Registration and Tickets: $75 per person including dinner, one drink ticket, entry into trivia contest. Each attendee receives a tax deduction letter stating $40 of each ticket is eligible. On the Registration Page, if you want to be part of a team, indicate the names of team members (up to 6) who you would like to be on your team. If you don't designate team members in your team, we will add you to a team of six. Registration ends September 23.

Awards: Winning teams will receive awards at the event.

Silent Auction: Terrific items for the silent auction. Cash, check, or credit/debit cards accepted.

Donate to Silent Auction: We welcome donations to the Silent Auction. If you have an item or gift basket with a value of $25 or more, please contact Ben Martin at brmbj3@gmail.com.  Depending on the item(s), they may be used in the Silent Auction or for other prizes. Examples: Gift Cards of $25 value or more; package of wine & wine glasses; food baskets; fresh fruit baskets; spa packages, vacation packages. We are grateful for all donations.

50/50 Raffle: Purchase tickets for the 50/50 raffle. $5.00 for one raffle ticket or $20 for 5 raffle tickets. Half of total tickets sales will go to winning raffle ticket drawing. 

Invite Friends: This "Let's Get Trivial" fundraiser is open to all ESU members as well as the general public. Invite friends, relatives, and neighbors.
