The English-Speaking Union welcomes all members to the 2018 Annual Conference, November 17-18 in New Orleans to celebrate this year's theme: Setting English in Action for a New Century.
The March 2023 winners were First place, Jacob West of Covington High School, student of Gary Mendoza, a 2016 BUSS (TLab) scholar to The Globe Theatre, London. Second place went to Ronan Newberry of the Willow School, and Third place went to Julia Bannon of Kenner Discovery High School.

Gary Mendoza, who also mentors students to compete in the annual Shakespeare Competition, will head to London for the program this summer thanks in part to the English Speaking Union of the United States [ESUUS], which provided the New Orleans chapter scholarship. Read more here.

The English-Speaking Union welcomes all members for a weekend in Louisville, KentuckyOctober 28-30 for the 2017 Annual Conference. This year's conference will further develop and define English in Action as the banner under which the ESU employs English as a medium for peace and understanding in a shrinking, turbulent world. It will include presentations, speakers, social events, camaraderie and updates on our efforts nationwide to fulfill our programs supporting teachers, students and recent immigrants. The cost of the conference is $370 with an optional day of events for $100.
The venue for the conference will be the legendary Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. A centerpiece of Louisville since its construction in 1923, The Brown will provide an elegant and historic foreground to the weekend's proceedings. Register here.
