Produced by Elizabeth Sharland

Revert for an evening to the time of the Algonquin Round Table group when martinis flowed like water, the wine was good and the conversation even better.......

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2018 at 7:15 P.M.
The Algonquin Hotel, 59 W. 44 St. New York, NY 10036

Dubbed the "Crown Prince of New York Cabaret" many years ago, Steve Ross hasn't lost his title. He was born "forty-five minutes from Broadway" in New Rochelle, and was raised in Washington, DC with an opera-loving father and a mother who played on the piano the songs of Gershwin, Porter and Irving Berlin. His first major job was as a successful singer/pianist at Ted Hook's Backstage. In 1981, he re-opened the legendary Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel where he held forth off and on for years. An articulate man with a keen knowledge of the Great American Songbook, Steve has hosted radio series and outdoor concerts. He conducts Master Classes and appears on the programs of Vocal Ease, a volunteer organization wherein performers contribute their time and talents in senior centers around the city.
