Welcome Message
The Richmond branch of the English-Speaking Union is proud to be an active member of the ESU nationally and internationally, offering stimulating programs to its members and educational scholarships and support to the community through the Teachers Learning Abroad-UK (TLab-UK) program and sponsorship of Richmond Shakespeare's Annual "Bardathon" for local high school students.
We welcome members and guests to share common interests at our various programs throughout the year which range from George IV as a Great Collector to Jenny Jerome Churchill to turn of the century China. January will find us sipping champagne and taking in the fascinating Hollywood Costume Exhibition at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art. Our final annual meeting in May will be a different - and we think fun - change from the usual cocktail party. This year we are planning a family al fresco picnic at historic Tuckahoe Plantation featuring traditional English entertainments and even an appearance of Good Queen Bess, Queen Elizabeth I ! We encourage guests to bring children and grandchildren!
