The Rainborowes: One Family's Quest to Build a New England: In the tumultuous decades between 1630 and 1660, a group of Massachusetts settlements quickly grew into a network of established colonies with their own distinctive social, economic and religious culture, while across the Atlantic, England was involved in a bloody civil war that shook the fabric of English social, political and religious life. At the center of this turbulent time was a remarkable family: the Rainborowes.
