Peter Hambridge is the Joint Head of Science and Head of Biology at Parmiter's School, Hertfordshire UK, where he has taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to the school's 11-18 year old students. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Newcastle, his Qualified Teacher Status from Middlesex University and his Master of Education degree from the University of Cambridge.

As a Walter Hines Page Scholar, Mr. Hambridge has been awarded a two-week tour in various cities in the United States, to visit comparable level educational facilities (middle school and high school) and to compare and contrast methods of advising young people on college and career readiness. He hopes to offer US schools a UK perspective, while at the same time learning US perspectives — for mutual benefit. In addition, he also hopes to connect with some US businesses and universities/colleges to further enrich his understanding of their prerequisites for success.

In his presentation to our members, Mr. Hambridge will discuss particulars of Science education in England. He says, " I will cover the good, the bad and the ugly of the Science education system in England — including curriculum change, work experience, funding and the time afforded to Science in school."

Mr. Hambridge has previously spent vacation time in US coastal states but has not been to the Midwest. As his Page Scholar multi-city US tour begins here in St. Louis, our members have the opportunity to extend our celebrated Midwestern warmth and welcome to him!
