Damali Moore was a 1996-97 Luard recipient, who went to Warwick University to study mathematics. She wrote when she returned home:
...with a wealth of knowledge and an increased confidence in my abilities...The ESU's choosing to award me with the Luard Scholarship surely contributed to my receiving the David and Lucile Packard Scholarship for graduate school...I look forward to seeing the ESU bless the lives of other students in much the same way as it has blessed mine.
