Luard Scholar 2007 - 2008
Howard University - - London School of Economics
THEN
"In my room at the London School of Economics, I have three posters of great men whom I admire, Malcolm X, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi. At the end of my bed, is the Gandhi poster which states, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow, Learn as if you were to live forever." Everyday that I am in London, I see myself walking into that forever. I am learning so much, whether it be from my classes and lectures, the lectures from some of the most notable intellects (such as Alan Greenspan), or just walking around Central London to see what I can discover. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have this experience, because it has truly been worthwhile. The English-Speaking Union has definitely enriched me academically, culturally, and socially and I look forward to continuing to work for them and represent them, both in the US and London, now and in the future."
