National Shakespeare Competition

ESU National Shakespeare Competition: E-Branch (formerly National Shakespeare Competition: Online)

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT WINNER FORM FEBRUARY 1, 2024!

WINNER FORM MUST INCLUDE LINK TO VIDEO OF WINNING STUDENT'S PERFORMANCE

The ESU National Shakespeare Competition: Online is now The National Shakespeare Competition: E-Branch.

The E-Branch is an online platform that allows certain schools to participate in the competition and qualify for the national finals. Schools may participate via the E-Branch if:

- They have no local ESU branch

- Their local ESU branch does not compete

- Their local ESU branch is not competing this year, but will return next year

This platform is not an option for schools that have a local ESU branch that is participating in the competition.

Please read on to learn more about how you can join the competition!

The ESU is dedicated to reaching teachers and students of English wherever they may be. We've heard from teachers who wanted to compete but couldn't because they were in areas without a participating ESU Branch. We listened. The ESU National Shakespeare Competition is now using technology to reach every high school, every teacher, and every student across the United States!

The ESU has expanded the competition to include all students, nationwide, regardless of location. Using readily available technology like cell phone cameras, schools without a participating local branch of the ESU can join the fun. Winners of the E-Branch Finals will compete in the national competition against all our branch competition winners.
