ESU Festival Group Night                    June 28, 2017

The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival's 25th season brings to Kansas City audiences what is considered by many scholars as Shakespeare's greatest play—Hamlet. Indeed, some scholars go further to proclaim Hamlet is the greatest play ever written by any playwright!

Nathan Darrow, a Kansas City native and Shawnee Mission North graduate, stars in the title role. Hamletis the story of a young prince torn between his dual roles of ruler and son, between introspective moral questioning and swift action.  It is also a story about the human spirit and the difficulties that can result when we experience internal conflict.

If you like Shakespeare, a beautiful evening in the park, and sharing with friends and family, then plan to join fellow ESU members and friends to experience the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival's Hamlet, Wednesday, June 28, 2017,  directed by Sidonie Garrett.

This promises to be a spectacular production with lavish stage sets, colorful costuming and all of our favorite actors and actresses: Nathan Darrow as Hamlet; Bruce Roach as Claudius; John Rensenhouse as the Ghost of the late King, Hamlet's father; Jan Rogge as Gertrude, the Queen; Robert Gibby Brand as Polonius; Matt Schwader as Laertes just to name a few in this great cast!
