To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is presenting two Shakespeare plays--A Midsummer Night's Dream and Antony and Cleopatra. They will be performed on alternate nights. Our ESU Group will be attending Antony and Cleopatra which was written about 1606 and is considered Shakespeare's epic tragedy, one of global proportions. It's a story about one of history's greatest and most ill-fated romances and details the love/hate relationship between the Roman leader, Antony and the cunning Egyptian queen, Cleopatra, and focuses largely on Antony's struggle with Caesar for control of the royal throne. The play is considered one of Shakespeare's richest and most moving works. If you like Shakespeare, a beautiful evening outdoors in the park, and sharing with friends and family, then plan to join fellow ESU members and friends to experience the Shakespeare Festival's production of Antony and Cleopatra.
