ESU Salutes A Chorus Line

Music Theater Heritage (MTH) at Crown Center is producing the musical A Chorus Line, considered one of the most prolific musicals of all time. Winner of 9 TONY Awards as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it remains relevant, provocative and explosively entertaining.

This production stars Kansas City native, Nathan Darrow, whose talents include film and television productions such as House of Cards, Billions, and many more. Nathan has the role of the choreographer in A Chorus Line at MTH.

Here are three events featuring A Chorus Line and we hope you can attend all three:

Thursday, August 10

We will attend the opening performance of A Chorus Line at MTH at Crown Center on Thursday, August 10 at 7:30 pm. ESU has discounted tickets available at 20% off the full-priced tickets. Use Promo Code ESU20 when purchasing your ticket(s). Click here to enter Promo Code, then select seat(s). The discount applies to any seat. Since tickets are individually purchased, we may not be all sitting together. We recommend purchasing your ticket(s) as soon as possible to get the best choice of seats. Before the show, our ESU group will meet for an optional casual meal at 6:00 pm at Spin Pizza on the ground floor at the Crown Center Shops. Spin Pizza has salads, sandwiches, and excellent pizza. Monday, August 14

This will be a fun evening of storytelling by Ben Martin. He will share his memories when he directed A Chorus Line at Lee's Summit High School just before he retired. Join us for an informal evening of Ben's storytelling on August 14 at 6:00 pm at Roots Seasonal Cuisine restaurant at 940 NW Prior Road, Lee's Summit, MO. Take the Prior Rd. exit off I-470. It's easy to find. This is a free event. We will enjoy a no host dinner off the menu in a private room. Please RSVP Jeff Schnabel if you can attend. jschnabelkc@gmail.com.

Tuesday, August 22

We will be showing the documentary film Every Little Step (1 hr. 33 min.) which follows the plight of real-life dancers as they struggle through auditions for the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. The film investigates the history of the show and the creative minds behind the original and current incarnations.  Bring your friends to this special screening on Tuesday, August 22 at 6:30 pm at the Plaza Library, 4801 Main St., in a large meeting room upstairs. This is a free screening. This will be the grand finale of three events saluting Music Theater Heritage's production of A Chorus Line. We hope to see you at all three events.
