Hope all had great holidays and a happy start to the New Year! With the new year arrives Shakespeare400 celebrating the Bard.

So before you enter the whirl of Carnival, save the date – or sign up ! - for our first Shakespeare400 event, Shakespeare's First Folio Program, Feb 16, 6330 St. Charles Ave. at 6:30 p.m. with presentation by Michael Kuczynski, MA PhD, head of the English Department at Tulane University, and bubbly to toast the Bard !


Michael Kuczynski, the current chair of the department, took his BA in English from St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia (1979), and his MA and PhD degrees in English and American literature from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1981, 1987).  He specializes in Middle English literature (especially Chaucer), intersections between religion and literature in medieval and early modern England, and the relationship between poetry and the visual arts.  He has published widely on medieval manuscripts, early modern books, and nineteenth-century antiquarianism.
