Join us for fine fellowship, dining and a fascinating program by John Magill, retired senior curator / historian from The Historic New Orleans Collection. He is also the author and/or contributor to six books including New Orleans: The First 300 Years (Pelican 2017), as well as an ESU Board member:
Magill's lecture will focus on the Crescent City's population growth from 1810-1920, primarily from large European immigrations, and compare that growth with other dynamic cities of the nation. Magill will also compare New Orleans along with other cities in the New World, and in keeping with the English Speaking Union compare it also with newly emerging cities of the British Empire.
