Harriet Tubman:American Icon

In a campaign to replace the face of Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill with that of a woman, Harriet Tubman has emerged as a popular contender. Born a slave, she became one of the leading abolitionists before the Civil War and worked tirelessly on the Underground Railroad. Syracuse University, Milton C. Sernett, Professor Emeritus History and African-American Studies, presents.
