ESU National Programs: Luard Morse Scholarships & TLAB (Travel and Learn Abroad)

The Luard Morse Scholarship provides up to $25,000 towards a semester of study at a British university to deserving students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). The scholarship is open to sophomore students in all disciplines and has been awarded to students majoring in economics, finance, mathematics, philosophy,  liberal arts, and the sciences.

Each year, ESU Branches provide nearly 50 TLAB Scholarships for secondary educators in their communities. ESU scholarships are for current classroom teachers who are selected by local Branches to attend multi-week courses at Shakespeare's Globe in London, the University of Edinburgh, or the University of Oxford.

TLAB also offers one-week travel-learning experiences for lifelong learners who seek to immerse themselves in one subject. For example, "From Page to Stage" engaged adult learners in the world of Shakespeare. Through theatrical performances at the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company, lectures with world-class scholars, exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, and museum visits, participants explore Shakespeare's family homes, enjoy the sites and shops that make Stratford-upon-Avon a unique destination, and gain a new perspective on how the Bard's legacy continues to shape our lives today.
