The 2015 Region VIII Conference will be held Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3, at the Hotel Benson in Portland, Oregon. The conference committee has been able to negotiate a special rate of $179 per night at the host hotel, so please make your reservations early! We want to encourage as many members as possible from all the branches in Region VIII to attend. Further details on the conference itinerary will be published as soon as they are available. The typical conference schedule begins with a reception Friday evening, an informative business meeting on Saturday morning, and a lunch and/or dinner with speaker. Sunday brunch concludes the business meeting. There is free time for sightseeing and shopping (no sales tax in Oregon!).

Seattle branch members Bill Maschmeier (Region VIII Chairperson), Susan Thurston Grathwohl, and Todd Houle are assisting Portland's president, Susan Farris, with the arrangements.

You're invited to join a group which will travel to Portland by train. They will train down on Friday, May 1, on Amtrak, and train back on Sunday, May 3. The rides are always enjoyable; there is an Amtrak discount for seniors. (Last time we had quite a party on the train!)
