 Teaching Shakespeare through THematic Focus

This workshop is designed for middle and high school teachers to explore the theme of Power and Persuasion in Shakespeare's texts. 

Participants will focus on: 

  • Exploration of the impact of Shakespeare's language in action
  • Analysis of verse, prose, and the power of rhetoric 
  • Discovering language, character, and setting
Appropriate for teachers of all levels.  You will receive copies of all materials for use in your classroom and certificate verifying completion of three hours of professional development.  

This workshop is a perfect introduction to TLab's three-week summer program at Shakespeare's Globe:  Teaching Shakespeare Through Performance.  Scholarships are awarded to a limited number of qualified teachers in the New York area.  Come to this event to learn more about the ESU's summer programs for teachers!

Meet the Practitioner:  COlin Hurley

Colin has extensive experience working with US teachers, and is currently starring on Broadway in Farinelli and the King.
